Across the water to Fort George
Backblip,
We took the old Dishwasher to the tip and then took Richard and Ronnie to the airport.
A lovely sunny day so after a tasty soup and cake at The Cheese factory cafe we went for a short walk along the beach near Fort George, pictured. You can see Fortrose the other side of the water , our house is on the hills behind.
A busy session at Brownies making Poppies in memory of each of the soldiers from Fortrose who lost their lives in WW1. It was sad reading up before hand finding out that 4 very young (16,16,17,20 ) life’s were lost on the same day, 9th May 1915, one on the 1st day of the Somme ( 19,240 British soldiers life’s were lost in total on this day, the worst day of the war ) two brothers died a few years apart and 9 have unknown graves.
We then went on to work out an acrobatic routine with one of the Mum’s who is a Gymnastic teacher. They all did very well and all had a go at foreward rolls and cartwheels in the end. So we now have a little routine ready for our show :)
