Abstract Thursday: Tapestry

Ingeborg has set an interesting challenge for Abstract Thursday this week - "tapestry". My Editor offered me a tapestry cushion which my Mum-in-Law stitched some years ago, with lovely roses on it but I thought maybe that was too easy! (I may well blip it sometime though.)

On my way to Killingworth Leisure Centre this morning for a swim I caught this shot of a swan on the Lake - I rather liked the way the morning sunshine was illuminating it and producing different colours in the water. So I layered it onto a photo of the weave of my camera bag in Photoshop, adjusting the opacity and fill of the layers to get the desired effect. I know it's not quite authentic as it implies that the threads change colour part way across a stitch but it's the nearest I could get (and it's only supposed to be an abstract representation of a tapestry anyway, so I'll claim artist's licence!).
