Edinburgh city lights

I took this image on Princes Street, Edinburgh, following a walking photography tour of the city. I had spent the day learning about the manual settings on the DSLR I had borrowed from work, and my good friend Linda suggested I try and capture some traffic light trails.
Although I didn't quite achieve that, and the composition is more by chance than deliberate, I'm pleased with this image. For me it marks the starting point of rediscovering photography, and having the confidence to see things from a new perspective.
