Loy Krathong. ...

.... is approaching fast and our condo staff have decorated the gazebo ready.   Loy Krathong or Festival of Light is when people make, or buy, Krathongs.  Krathongs are made by decorating the bark of a banana tree with flowers and candles.  On the actual day of the festival these are then floated on a river or sea to take away bad  luck.  Lanterns with candles in them are also released to float away.  On the day of Loy Krathong some flights in and out of Chiang Mai will be canceled.
