Bluebell Woods
Went to The Exiles for tea and a chat with Party Girl and Homeopathic Girl, then The Exile and I took Oscar for a walk in the Bluebell woods near Cotehele. It was absolutely magical - the leaves and needles had covered the paths so they were golden. They had fallen everywhere else but the ivy had diffused their effect until we came to these fir trees. When the breeze caused more leaves to fall they floated gently down in a most pleasing way and I managed to catch one if you look really closely!
We then drove on to the shops - I had intended going to Waitrose but The Exile wanted Lidl over the large roundabout. I'd not been in for ages as they don't stock the food the cats like and the fruit syrup I like and was pleasantly surprised at the changes that had been made and found lots of lovely stuff. I'd forgotten the great range of xmas food they stock - Florentines, Panettone, Cantuccini!! Also the great range of fruit and veg and not forgetting the middle aisle of odds and sods - like the car boot organiser I bought! I got everything on my list except the oven gloves, as well as the things not on it! Unfortunately The Exile had 3 things on her list she couldn't get so we still where to Waitrose and I got my oven gloves! Next stop the Garden Centre to get fish food and soil and The exile got a Mexican Orange Blossom and a rather lovely pot! Final stop the garage to post my sisters charger - unfortunately the Post Office is only staffed on a tues and thurs! It used to be open every day and took up the whole end section of the garage shop. When new owners took it on the post office was downsized to a small section of the service counter. I've lost count of the number of Post Offices that have closed or downscaled around me.
Finally home exhausted! Oscar sadly wasn't and went into manic mode so out for another walk we went!
