Downs Bank Viewpoint

For a complete change I went for a walk, with a friend, on Barlaston Downs not far from where I live. It's s mall area of woodland and heath with a babbling brook running through it. Many a happy hour was spent here in my childhood desperately trying to dam the shallow stream.

This is the highest point where you can see as far as the Wrekin and the Long Mynd in Shropshire. It's now owned by the National Trust.

We then went for lunch at a local canal marina restaurant in Stone.
