Swans at sunset
Having joined the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Caerlaverock earlier in the month, and it promising to be a lovely day, we decided to visit Martin Mere in Lancashire. We were impressed with the extent of the place, the sheer number of birds around and the gear in terms of cameras, lenses, tripods, binoculars and telescopes people were carrying around with them.
I managed quite a few shots that I was happy with, but in the end the most memorable bit of the visit was watching the swans being fed at sunset. This picture was taken before feeding time, as they were beginning to gather.
