Remembrance...

...some of our congregation worked incredibly hard on this cascade of crocheted poppies and then on arranging them. Grateful for their talents and their time.

The wee fella and I walked back down the Church and Bell Tower at 12:30 to hear the bell being rung to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Armistice. The bell of St.Ninians Old one bell amongst others across the country that rang out in concert at that time.

Today our family remembers two Great Uncles lost in WWI and an Uncle lost in WWII. Robert Oliver, my Gran’s brother, who my Dad was named for and our Rooster has these names as middle names, killed 6th July 1916. Dougal Campbell, my Grandpa’s brother, killed 13th November 1916. John (Ian) McDougall Campbell, my Dad’s eldest brother, shot down over Kiel Bay 22nd May 1944.

Grateful to all those who gave and who give service and pray that we one day can put an end to war, conflict and suffering.
