From Leeds Bridge...
... in Leeds City Centre. The cast iron bridge marks the western end of the Aire & Calder Navigation Canal. Here we see old warehouse conversions on the waterfront.
The building on the right bears a blue plaque commemorating Louis Aime August Le Prince, who experimented with early cinematography. In 1888, he patented a single-lens camera and used it to make a short film of people crossing the bridge. He thus created what were reputed to be the world's first successful moving pictures.
