Not all gone
A delayed posting owing to a packed programme today. We walked this morning into Mote Park to find the overnight rain and winds had not stripped all the leaves from the trees. We were out early for us walking locally, not into town as usual as Susan had a flu jab and I was refereeing on Sheppey with an early start owing to England playing.
Today’s game was between two Vets sides with all players over 35 and many much older than that. A good game played with intensity and skill that was a pleasure to referee.
Stopped at the Club to watch the first half of the England New Zealand game, seems that was the best half as England failed to capitalise on a 15-0 lead to loose 15-16 at the end.
After dinner we watched the Festival of Remembrance, especially significant this year of course. We always watched the Festival when I was a boy with my parents. They always watched eagle eyed in case people were out of step. Dad used to carry the Wrockwardine British Legion Standard on Remembrance Day Parades.
