Armistice Day

100 years since the end of WW1.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow,
Between the crosses, row on row.

Two brothers joined up to fight for their country and only one came back. All that is left of Alexander Cowper is his name on a memorial wall in Tyne Cot cemetery. The other brother Robert became my grandfather, and a fabulous one at that.

Remembering today all those that sacrificed their lives. I think to myself what lessons were learned......
