Here it is

This is a shot of my new slow cooker, which I have written about several times before.  It holds 6 quarts, has a timer and four heat settings.  At the moment, it is cooking a stew of my own devising, containing eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, carrots, red peppers, diced tomatoes and both ground beef and ground turkey.  And no added salt - I use a spice blend and lots of black pepper  This will last me for days, which is good because I've used up all my energy preparing this dish.

This really cold weather hit lots earlier than normal, so since I don't have a proper winter coat, I wore the windbreaker that was part of my reunion swag.  It's very nice to look at, but not really made for a petite person - driving in it is difficult because the collar comes up so high when I'm sitting down.  I've been looking everywhere for a winter jacket, but things I like either don't come in my size or have all been sold out because it's late in the season.  I found the perfect jacket at Lands End, but it is available in only one size that is way too big for me.  I hope I find something soon, but I'm running out of places to look!
