Forest Creek running high

Another day in the mail run and remarkably all of yesterday’s snow is long gone on the flats. The rivers though are still high, even Forest Creek, itself a mini braided river as it reaches the mighty Rangitata.

This drone shot wasn’t without incident; a local group of pied oystercatchers seemed thoroughly miffed about the state of their river and so decided to take it out on my drone by doing high speed passes ;) Luckily my incursions into their territory have had no lasting effect on flying camera device or the avians themselves!
