Sitka, Fortress of the Bear.

This is a lovely little rescue centre and a very affordable $10 entry to witness these bears that were saved from the street after their mother died. They were helpless cubs that were to be shot before someone decided to create this shelter for them.



If you don't get to see any wild bears when you're in Alaska (and you don't want to) then you can see them safely here. I've definitely been walking near a bear in woods and was very thankful that it decided to leave me alone!
