Somebody very kindly pointed out this heron for me in Betws y Coed.  They'd just seen it catch a fish.  I was leaning over a bridge hoping to also see it catch one.  Waited a while to no avail.  This is the closest I've ever got to a heron as the ones on the Solway are usually out a long way.

Back home now after a wet week in Snowdonia.  Looks like I brought the rain home with me!    Stopped off in Blackpool to visit friends I haven't seen for a number of years.  Sadly K has Motor neurone and has carers 24 / 7.   So very sad to see him like this and I'm glad I made the detour to see him.
