Light through leaves.
This morning the light was really sharp and clear. It was warm in the sun up near the summerhouse.
I took the photos of the leaves as I loved the way the light made them almost transparent.
I had put the washing into the machine early. Hubby slumbered on till 10.15 am. Unheard of for him! Could be residual tiredness from our recent trip, or something to do with a niggly cough that kept him awake during the night.
By the time he had woken and had breakfast the sunshine had dispersed and the clouds were filling in promising rain.
I decided discretion was the better part of valour and put the newly washed clothes into the dryer. Sure enough it started to rain half and hour later.
We went out for a pub lunch with a friend and after a couple of hours or so it was late afternoon and the light fading.
I noticed it that it was dark by 4.50 pm.
Hubby had baked some bread, which he does by hand, and made soup for tea. Bacon and lentil. Very enjoyable. Home made bread tastes so good.
Fireworks once more outside this evening! We only ever had one Bonfire Night with fireworks when I was growing up.
Held in a field belonging to our local farmer, it was one of the highlights of the year. Good memories.
