Las Meninas

First stop after breakfast was the Prado and more specifically Las Meninas before the crowds. We succeeded and enjoyed that and the other Velazquez, which was the reason behind this trip. It was lovely to see paintings which we have come to know after reading the Vanishing Man. Also took time to see Garden of Earthly delights.

Afterwards we visited the Retiro, had lunch on a rooftop terrace and then went to see Guernica at Reina Sofia where I also enjoyed a Dorothea Tanning exhibition.

20,000 plus steps since we left this morning: now back at apartment resting before dinner.
