It's Grim Up North

RADAR

I'm taking part in a two year, Europe wide study aimed at people who have a history of anxiety and depression. The research in the UK is being run by the department of psychiatry at the Maudsley hospital.
The aim is to see if the monitoring of mood using an online app, online brain games and continual monitoring of exercise and sleep patterns using a Fitbit helps people to monitor their own mood and also allows for intervention if the research team is concerned about any if the participants.
The same research is also being done with people with MS and people with epilepsy.
So I give something to medical research and medical research gives me a new phone and a Fitbit.
There's no specified requirement as to how I interact with the Fitbit, I've never been able to see the point of them and studies show that they don't have any noticable effect in people's health.
However, I'm delighted with it and can see that it will help me get back to normal functioning after the bone snapping. 10,000 steps will be a piece of piss, I will do 8,000 today without trying and the half an hour of being active happens without me having to try. There are some advantages in being a restless person but......
The best bit is the 'how you slept' function which reminds me what I need to do for a good nights sleep.
