Looking for bombs...
...in front of my door.
When I left my home this morning, I saw the bomb disposal ("Kampfmittelbeseitigung") busy looking for bombs from World War II. We are getting new street lights and the earthworks make it necessary to check first for safety. I have seen them very often at work in the park, whenever new trees are being planted. They usually come early in the morning when there are fewer people around.
When a bomb is found it is sometimes not possible to defuse it. Then it has to be detonated, like the one found in Munich this summer. Here's a video that shows the explosion. Honestly, it sends shivers down my spine.
