Amazing Autumn!

A lovely walk in Cotehele woods which are ablaze with autumn colour, and Oscar excelled himself! Recall 100% even when it meant leaving other dogs and retrieval of a ball from the bottom of a very steep slope to the stream! Infact he enjoyed it so much he dropped it down there himselff so he could hurtle down and get it!
We met two adorable dachshunds - one was 16 weeks old and so small when it fell in the slight channel along the path her owner had to pick him out of it! I was so worried Oscar would squash her with his big paws or grab and eat her! He did neither! Phew! My sister went back to the shop to buy marzipan sweets for our uncle in Canada - I took photos of the xmas decs! It's all looking very elegant!
Home to make Butternut squash soup with my own grown squash! It was lovely with soda and walnut bread from Totnes made into cheesy croutons - a very autumnal meal most suited to the day!
Friends daughter and her partner The Singer came down in the afternoon to fit a cat flap in the cats upstairs feeding room - what a relief to have that finally done and the dog crate and boxes removed that were actually no obstacle to Oscar getting in no matter how many ways I tried to arrange them! He also fitted the 3 antique hooks I'd bought at Totnes to hang Oscars lead and harness on. The Singer had had a tooth removed in the morning so I was amazed he was still up for doing it! Daughter  went and cuddled Milkshake as she was originally their cat! Oscar went quite loopy over her - repeatedly jumping up at her as she sat on the kitchen sofa! I think it was because she was wearing a fluffy coat and scarf and kinda looked like a big fluffy dog! I resorted to giving her the peanut flavoured bubble mixture - he hates the bubbles! He went and lay down in the conservatory!
I left The Singer doing the hooks as I had the hen close - Oscar was very well behaved although a little flouncy at times - I think the fading light spooks him a little! I lost his treat pouch somewhere walking round the allotment with him, add that to the mitten I lost in the woods in the morning and his spare lead most in the calstock Woods a few days ago! I don't know what's the matter with me at the moment - I keep losing stuff! But at least today I felt calmer! Phew!
