There but not there

Friday 9th November 2018

First day of opening. The church was open 10am - 4pm and we had 125 visitors, most of whom spent quite a while in the church looking at memorabilia or spending some moments sitting quietly. Quite a few had travelled from other places.  A lot of people at the coffee morning as well. 

Many commented on the emotions the Tommies generated. How many Tommies in this picture? (Not including the little cards) They are not easy to photograph! The other cards on the pews are the names of all the servicemen killed from this parish in WW1. There are names on every pew in church. Much better large! 

Concert at the Village Hall tonight with the Village Silver Band. That will be powerful too.
