A night on the farm

I drove through the rain all morning but by lunchtime it had stopped and then sun came out. The first leg of the journey has been uneventful and our overnight stop is on a remote farm with dilapidated old buildings and lots of animals. Our hosts are very friendly and explained that they are retired farmers and that the animal which include goats, chickens, geese, cats and dogs are really all just pets. Our hosts are cooking a meal for us later so it is nice not to have to go out in search of food.
