Close to home

I popped into Waitrose this morning and couldn’t resist pulling over on the way home.

The colours of the trees in the little reserve, Pipe Hill Heathland (in the Forest of Mercia) were looking amazing.

It’s overgrown. It’s soggy. The weather was overcast (and forecast for worse).

But it was a delight. The Autumn shades are just terrific...
