In between

It feels like we're in between seasons at the moment.  Autumn has shown her back and Winter is closing in the gap.  I'm having to layer and bundle up when going outside which is new to me coming from milder coastal weather.

We still had a bit of snow around after Monday's snowfall and with the drop in temperatures last night (-11C/12F), a beautiful ice abstract presented itself to me this morning.  The background is our deck railing and the ice particles are no more than 1/4" high, probably less.  The sun was bouncing off the ice as it shone and glistened.  I did try a few tummy shots on the grass but the end result wasn't what I was looking for.  I'm going to have to brush up on my snow/ice shots.  

But not to worry, as I'll have many months to practise.  Winters are long here and I imagine I'll have experienced 'cabin fever' first hand!
