Refuge
We're connected in various ways to the local refugee support groups. Through this we came to learn of the Rivers of Gold organisation supporting refugees in Birmingham, who'd just got a minibus and were looking for places for day trips.
Hence we hosted a break here for around 20 of them this afternoon. They had their lunch here (hence all the chairs) and we toured them around the garden / sculptures before guiding them in the direction of British Camp.
It was clear they relished and enjoyed the break. I'm not sure I'd be able to raise much of a smile if I were forced halfway across the world and into a very different culture, especially, as in some cases, with family left behind.
