A check, a balance

The synagogue across the street from me has this seemingly random arch on the far side. Today with the clouds it looked dramatic. 

I am so glad I unplugged last night and waited until this morning to learn the outcome. Bad news for every race I was following but other than those the news is very good. By waiting until this morning I could get the balanced results rather than stressing every minute. 

Today Sessions was fired. Tomorrow there will be protests. The expectation is that his replacement will end the Mueller investigation. 

It will be a long, hard slog ahead, but now we have one of the checks and balances that are supposed to keep government bodies in line. 

In the meantime, it is important to celebrate the wins. I am glad I don't have to flee the country. That would have been expensive and inconvenient.
