Diwali

We were invited to help our local Indian Restaurant celebrate Diwali.  This beautiful display was in front of the restaurant.  It is created from rice and flower petals.   There was also beautiful rice paterns on the ground, see my extra. The Indian ladies who attended looked absolutely wonderful in their brightly coloured saris.   The restaurant took this opportunity to introduce their new menu. It was a very busy night, but very enjoyable.

Earlier in the day we went for a drive ,  my second extra is of the view from the top of local mountain that is home to a local farming community.  It is incredible to think that in the 60's this area would have been producing heroine.  Thanks to intervention by the Thai Royal Family this has now all changed.  This initiatives are known as Royal Projects.
