Match postponed

I've got pie, chips, peas and beer........

But no match.

The referee decided 30 minutes before kick off that the pitch was unplayable because of a number of soft patches on the pitch.

Apparently he was concerned that if a player turned an ankle he would be responsible. I'd have thought if a player did get injured and wanted to sue the referee he would have to prove it was the pitch to blame.

I've seen many a game played on worse pitches.

But the referee has made his decision. I have, like everyone else, accepted it and I respect it.

It's a pity: tonight I was going to do the announcements in a strange French accent like Joey Barton did at a press conference yesterday :)
