Diary of an Edinburgher

Good advice

I went to the gym with renewed determination this morning, after my successful meeting with a man who knows a thing or two about dodgy knees.

The young 'uns set off to town after breakfast. The day threatened rain, but it eventually arrived late afternoon. No matter, their day was spent in the museum.

We took Archie up the hill, but it was a bit gloomy, with lots of grey clouds around. Not nice photogenic clouds. As we walked round the top of the hill, JR, who was ahead of me, looked back, and exclaimed, 'Look behind you!'. A patch of blue sky had miraculously appeared and the grey clouds were now white fluffy ones. Perfect! Good advice, JR - always look behind you.

After a snooze (me) and organising tonight's tea (JR), we took Archie out to the Links. But we got caught in the rain that had been expected all day. No worries! We popped in to Montpelier's for a schooner (each) of pale ale. Oh, and some shoestring fries. We dandered home when the rain stopped.

A Christmas tree has been spotted in our street! It's only the 7th of November, for goodness sake!!!
