Melbourne Cup

I minded Henry and Jane this morning then we went to a Melbourne Cup function in the valley.
We used to enjoy following the race but with so many overseas horses we have never heard of and the emphasis on fashion, partying and celebrities it has lost much of its interest for us. 
Still it's a national event so one must pause like the rest of the country and watch them go around.
I didn't have a bet and we got there too late to go in the sweep so I lost nothing :-)
