There's going to be trouble when the authorities find out about this new graffiti. it's covering up older graffiti and you'd be hard pressed to spot the difference. On the canal this morning he was perfectly happy to be snapped so I presume it's not illegal.

On the the RGS in the evening for a brilliant talk about the oceans under threat. There is hope - huge areas are being designated as protected zones and gps technology is going to make it easier to catch the illegal fishing ships. Heartening to hear a positive take on this.
