What Flower is This?

I was hoping by the time I posted tonight I had heard from my plant guru friend Sue who would no doubt be able to give me the botanical name for this very pretty and delicate flower that is blooming in profusion at Wombat Hollow at the moment.  As soon as I hear back I will edit my journal.  I should mention that I can’t see a lot of the detail in this flower with my naked eye.  Thanks to the macro setting on my SonyRX10, the wonders of this tiny, tiny flower are revealed.  Thanks to JDO for taking over the hosting of Tiny Tuesday for the month of November.  I’m happy to say that I well and truly have my macro mojo back after hosting the challenge in October.  In my humble opinion this image is definitely enhanced in the LARGE version :)

We’ve had a very quiet day today and spent most of this afternoon gearing up to watch the running of the Melbourne Cup horse race.  It’s billed as the race that stops the nation and that’s exactly what it does.  There are Melbourne Cup luncheons held all over the country and it does create a lot of excitement.
