Portraits

John Greengo, who teaches classes on Creative Live, said that asking people if he can take their picture bothers him terribly. I love how asking if you can take someone's portrait makes them happy. I asked the vampire on Halloween and he was so pleased. There is a woman at work who is striking and beautiful and accidentally walked into my picture and I was delighted to show her and to confess that I'd wanted to take her picture for a while. Well, yesterday I caved into Gear Acquisition Syndrome and bought a Helios Russian-made vintage lens. Today I saw her and told her that I'd just bought a new lens that should be great for taking portraits.....such a lovely smile she gave me as I asked if I could take her portrait. 

It is not just me. Many people in the US are completely stressed out about the election tomorrow. It is comforting to know I'm not the only one. I think my still having some tiny little coughs and a raspy voice is a result. I think the residual is psychosomatic. 

I'm going to order my comfort food, Drunken Noodles, tomorrow night. I have some chocolate frozen yogurt.
