Slightly Sticky Wall.
Now we’re safely installed at our Cullen pied-à-terre for Mrs TD to indulge in a patchwork fix; unfortunately the weather has turned a little so I don’t feel encouraged to participate in my normal cycling activities. However, Mine host did invite me to join him at the monthly meeting of the local heritage group, where I saw a lot of pictures of the local points of interest and heard about their history. There’s been a lot of history in the area so the speaker had much to talk about and it wasn’t difficult to make it an interesting afternoon. The full scale of the project is onlt just beginning to be appreciated by the craftswoman in question; in the few hours since the progress was Blipped, another four panels have been added and the last four are well on their way. I think she is going to need to replace her double bed with a king size and, in spite of the materials chosen, this quilt isn’t going to be just for Christmas,
One of the young ladies here is making use of “the wall,” covered in a slightly sticky material, you place elements of your design on it and they stay until you re-arrange them. I have visions of the panels being thrown from a distance so tht you end up with a random distribution; rather like the bachelors’ method of testing pasta – if it sticks to the wall it’s ready – if it doesn’t, it falls behind the cooker and waits for the next round of spring cleaning - whenever that might be.
