Split Rail Fence...
...which has lasted FAR longer than anyone anticipated! The park put up "new" fences in the spring of 1987--I remember, as it's the year Tom & I were married--expecting them to last a good 15 years or so before needing to be replaced. But due to budget cuts the fences have been left as is. This part of it sits on top of the bluff overlooking the Lake, so takes the brunt of the rain, wind, snow, and ice that we get. Some areas of the fence have quite a lean to them & other areas are really rough & cracked, & yet all these years it's weathered the storms. An appropriate analogy for marriage, don't you think? :)))
A big thanks to 60Plus for hosting MonoMonday this month, and for the theme of FAR.
