Movember & More

Poppy Collecting - Day Seven.
My last collecting day until Monday, the town was busy but the initial rush has died down to a steady trickle with a fair amount of people donating for a second Poppy having lost their first one.
I finished slightly earlier than usual in order to get home and changed so that I could make my way by bus and train to the RCH Treliske Knowledge Spa.

The hospital signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant this evening.

With a sprinkling of serving officers from all three services and Veterans from all local groups the event was well attended. There is a misconception amongst people that the Covenant allows serving personnel and Veterans to ‘jump the queue’, not so, it ensures that your Military Service does not disadvantage you when compared to someone who has not served. It also recognises that the Military Service Of Veterans may have led directly to, or contributed to, ailments, illnesses and conditions.

I had a clean close shave yesterday ready for this years attempt at Movember.
