Breakey Blips

Bill and Angela

This fine couple of Irish Americans are my husband's aunt and uncle. They generously invited me to pop in for a couple of nights in Baltimore.
They gave me a tour around this city that, like so many places, is reinventing itself from heavy industrial to ... well that's pay of the problem... to what? While it works that all out, the environment has become cleaner, safer and generally more pleasant to be in.

It was so good to catch up on them both, I think my eldest was about 18 months when we last met. Bill closely resembles my father in law in looks and gentle mannerisms, so it was a good to spend time with them remembering two good Breakeys, father and son.
Bill and Angela started a visitors book after they were married, and we flicked through it to find David's entry that he wrote aged 21. Remarkably, or is it? His handwriting at age 57 had barely changed.

So it was a visit to forge new memories, but also to give them a chance to mourn their nephew. All told, it was good to be there.
