Concentration

Cookie day with our seven year-old neighbor Amaya. She is learning English and Shelley is learning Spanish, so this was a perfect opportunity for both to practice. A seven year-old's attention is fleeting, so all the ingredients were measured prior to Amaya's arrival. She was then in charge of putting them together, including breaking the necessary two eggs - which required intense concentration as is seen here, mixing the results, and placing them on a cookie sheet (actually a small pizza pan, the only thing that fits into our toaster oven). Six batches of eight cookies later, everyone in the complex had sampled these delicious peanut butter oatmeal creations and Amaya had improved her baking skills.
