Three Generations

My sister kindly took some group photos of me with her son and his partner, and their three delightful children, also seen yesterday. Great-nephew A handles his family's chickens as comfortably as other children handle puppies or kittens!

The children have many books (and I added to their collection), numerous chickens, a dog, a turtle, koi, and a big yard to play in. My nephew is currently their daytime caregiver; their mother is a nurse.

I'm going to try to send each child a monthly typed letter, with a photo or two printed on it, in an envelope with an interesting stamp on it. I loved getting occasional notes from my grandmother when I was a child, and hope that this new generation will relish the novelty of a letter traveling several days to reach them, versus the almost instantaneous transmission of ephemeral text messages.
