Squirrel Battles
This morning no birds got a single black sunflower seed from the window feeding tray. A pair of chummy squirrels who you see here took over. Usually, they sat hip by hip and jowl by jowl scarfing up all the seeds. Maybe they are an old married couple. When a third squirrel, then a fourth, hopped up (or down from the roof) the attack was ON! Defending their hoard was all they could do. They would throw the invader off and begin munching again.
The filthy window is due to doves and squirrels who are sloppy eaters.
The rodent couple went through an entire quart of seed, leaving none for anyone else.
Later, I went out shopping and failed to take photos of the perfectly glorious trees wearing their falling red, gold, amber, and orange leaves. This was it today for the climax of the leaf colour here. Sorry, the camera was at home as I felt the Warrior Squirrels had won the blip battle for the day.
Also, I am reluctant to take my camera out when I go shopping because my most favourite Olympus got stolen from my car when I was out shopping a couple of years ago.
It rained all day off and on with the leaves falling, it made for a perfect autumn afternoon. Perhaps I can find a few leftovers tomorrow.
