Blonde Bombshell...
In the pool by 7.30am again this morning. The weather was wild outside, heavy rain and the wind blowing a hoolie. So glad to be indoors.
Knowing the bad weather was to last all day, the plan had been to empty more boxes that are sitting in the study (left over boxes full of crockery and kitchen stuff from two years ago when we built the extension and put the new kitchen in.) Two years! Clearly we don't like to rush the emptying of the boxes!! But of course the best laid plans...
David had just taken Lola out for a short walk when I got a text from AP, who was the electrician on our building project. Years ago he used to be into photography in a big way (developed his own photographs) but work life got in the way of his hobby and he hasn't owned a camera for years. He thought he might get back into it over the summer so I lent him my Canon 60D and lenses to play with to help him decide if it was something he wanted to get back into. His text said he was in the area and he could hand in my camera around 2.00pm if that suited. Texted him back to say that was fine.
He arrived just after 2pm and we were having coffee and a catch up when David returned a bit drookit and with a very soggy Lola so more coffee was made.
AP is a fellow Kate Bush obsessive fan and D & I were supposed go to see the excellent KB tribute band Cloudbusting in September (who AP had tipped us off about) but I wasn't well so we couldn't go. Listening to him talk about the concert today, it sounds like we missed a fantastic night.
When AP left just before 4pm, the light was fading and we easily talked ourselves out of emptying boxes, deciding it was too late and almost Saturday evening, time for relaxing and not emptying boxes. Instead I decided to take some photos of Lola with the D60 that AP had just returned. I had forgotten how much lighter in weight it is compared to the 6D so think I might use it for a few days, just for a wee change.
