Sunset over Yosemite

Today was my first day in the park so after arriving I got my bearings and then headed out to mirror lake... not for the lake as thats all dried up this time of year but it’s a nice hike and I’d heard there was a lot of wildlife around.

I wasn’t lucky enough to see anything exciting but it was a fabulous walk and so beautiful!

After lunch I headed out to Mariposa Grove as it was closed to the public last time I visited. Again, another great hike and the most amazing trees you’ll ever see.

I was tipped off that the road between the valley and Mariposa was an ideal place to shoot the sunset, so I headed off and chose this spot (main photo) to wait for the sunset... I really love how the light plays on the rocks and how the plants have found their spaces to grow.
