Animal Tails

I was finally back in the skies today, and ended up in Denver several hours later. I almost called this blip ‘New Frontier’ because there was a former Frontier Airlines in Colorado when I was first based there, but they folded in late 1986. The ‘new’ Frontier airlines has been around since 1994 and was created by a group of executives from the original Frontier Airlines. I was quite surprised to learn that this new incarnation has been around for 24 years already! There is a very interesting history involving United Airlines and Continental Airlines (now merged) and Frontier, both the original and the ‘new’ incarnation. I won’t bore you, but if I’d been told back in the mid 80s how the three airlines would evolve over time, I would NOT have believed it!

Anyway - I DO love the tails of the Frontier planes. I enjoy seeing which ‘animals’ are parked at their gates when I’m walking through the terminal. I think they have my vote for the most beautiful aircraft tails.
