Will It Ever End...
I was just about to get out of my seat and look for a blip when Molly jumped on her post... cheers Molls!
A big of a saga ended today, I'd ordered the last batch of insulation and plasterboard just over 2 weeks ago with delivery 2 Fridays ago. They turned up at another (empty) house with similar address, didn't find anyone so went away. Rearranged for the next Monday, they turned up minus 15 boards. Rearranged for Wednesday (2 ago), they turned up with 15 but another load in the van had moved by an inch and was trapping mine. First the driver tried to collapse the pallet below them without success, I did tell him it wouldn't work cos I got a Physics Higher after appeal. Then he decided to break the top one to give some movement room, but didn't remove all of it so the one underneath got damaged... to cut a long story short (this part of it) he damaged 10 boards and I only got 5 good ones. I did tell him if he was breaking anyway, just go back and bring new ones, but oh no, he was determined to get them out. Aye so, 10 arranged for this Monday... they brought 10 bigger ones, too big. Rearranged for Wednesday, they didn't turn up. Rearranged for today, they turned up with 10, but the driver said he had been here on Tuesday and because we weren't in, left them in next door's shed, and seemed to have a longer conversation with them than we have had so far, so anyway, he left. As I was getting them out of the shed, 3 were already damaged... I got him to come back and got 3 new ones, he left the damaged ones.
These boards cost £5.11 each, there were 6 delivery attempts, 13 boards were ruined(ish), I reckon they made a loss on those! Apart from having to get up or be ready to far more often than I can cope with, it didn't bother me as I am not ready to use them... but I am glad I can forget about that! Jeezy peeps!
