Large Wasp Moth
There are many species of wasp moth, but I have never seen one as BIG as this one before. It has a body length at least 1" and a wingspan of 2". Normally the wasp moths that I see are a lot smaller than this.
They look quite imposing in their dangerous looking yellow and black striped livery, but as a clearwing moth, they are quite harmless.
I just noticed after posting, that this one seems to be gee laying. You can see the small white eggs to the left of the moth. Interesting.
Lecky has been down for a few hours and this has affected connection speed. If the speed picks up, I will try some research, but it is a dead loss at the moment.
