Beech woods

High on the North Downs the beech woods still look magnificent in today's brilliant sunshine. On the trees the remaining leaves are still green but there is a carpet of orange below.
I was pleased to get out today after yesterday's gloom which really depressed me. The only bright spark in my day was a cheery message from grandson Jake. But what a difference the sun makes! I've ticked several jobs off my list, and enjoyed helping Normous sweep leaves off the lawn. He plans to mow tomorrow.
