Much hilarity at book group today, especially when Ser admitted he hadn't read this month's book, Spanky, and 4 of us simulanteously tried to push our copies onto him. Yes, it was that good! So good that no one wanted it back on their bookshelves. He wasn't up for it unfortunately. To be fair it wasn't the most awful book I've ever read and those of us who did attempt it got all the way to the end - it's a pretty easy read - but it wasn't great. I was massively irritated by the rubbish writing, poor characterisation and lack of any decent plot the whole way through - not pulling any punches huh?! Could have been worse though, take one look at that cover and you'd think it must be gay porn or S&M....actually that would probably have been better! When I couldn't give my copy away I was going to 'accidentally' leave it on the table but MsInk very kindly took it to offload elsewhere for me, it certainly wasn't coming home again.
