Scottish Wildcat
It was a nice day so I ran away to the Zoo. I'm a member but I've not been for ages and I don't really know why as I love being there.
I was lucky enough to see the two Binturong kittens but not fortunate enough to see them do anything more active than twitch in their sleep - which was cute anyway. As i loitered a young lady arrived and began sketching them. We chatted as we pursued our individual artistic activities. She is a student at the city's Art School and this was an assignment. She was not happy about having to use an A3 sketch pad (they had been told to) and I could see how unwieldy it was as she tried to sketch whilst trying to see the critters past the reflections in the glass.
I was also lucky enough to see some of the Scottish Wildcat [SWC] kittens [which ARE actually called "kittens"]. See above.
At just 7°C it was rather chilly standing about despite being well prepared. Cold hands maketh the photographers job difficult!
Fate intervened when my camera's memory card filled up. I was happy to have an excuse to leave! I didn't see any of my usual zoo friends - either staff or visitors. I was happy to also get some good shots of the Pandas and Rhinoceros.
