Grunting Gadwall

Lovely weather for ducks. :(  We had a wet walk at Amwell Nature Reserve and sat in a hide for a while. I photographed a moorhen perched in a dead hemlock and missed a kingfisher which made a flying visit. This male gadwall was all alone grunting, "Nheck, nheck" occasionally. I captured him as he changed position.

I got an image of one of the piglets on the scrape running so fast that all its feet were off the ground and its ears flipped up straight but unfortunately it was a bit soft. :(
