Failure is just training for success - Kevin Smith

Today's title is a quote from a Kevin Smith "Jay and Silent Bob get Old" smodcast I listened to this morning on the way to work. I heartily agree with the sentiment but then I pretty much think Kevin Smith is a Genius :) Not everyone agrees but there you go.

I listened again on the way home and (anyone who listens will be able to tell I am wayyyy behind...) the topic today discussed Kevin's time in Canada and how surprised he was at who physically wrote him letters and who didn't. Jay, incidentally wrote only one....

It made me think of when I moved away to University and I had a bunch of friends who did consistently write to me and I to them - and then when I went home for holidays, uni friends that would write.

I still have those letters and as much as reading emails from friends is good I have to say I miss opening an envelope and digesting the words someone has taken effort to put pen to paper to write.

So anyways back to my opening line....failure is training for success - this resonates with me as I used to be terrified of failing so wouldn't do something just in case I wasn't good at it. I feel more open to trying new things even if I such - this camera malarky is just that. Tonight I played about trying to learn something about exposure. I think there is a lot to try and fail at in the process.
